Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

I woke up at noon today, checked my email and was thoroughly annoyed by the over-enthusiasm (disguised in the name of responsibilty) displayed by a committee member whose workscope includes the initiation of committee-bonding activities. And no, this comm member, XXX, is NOT a welfare rep. -_-''

XXX seems to have short term memory. Cuz the week before last week, we just had orientation day, and last week we had the mid-autumn festival celebration. This week we had comm meeting and had met up for 2 days for our regular practice. So just how many days must we see each other per week in order to not forget the faces of every comm member huh?

Recess week is not a week to play and relax, but for us to catch up with our work, finish assignments, do up proposals, study for the upcoming exams and to interact with friends and family (whom we have neglected for the past few months, hiding in the hostel). My priority will be on work, and family and friends whom I hadn't met up with for quite some time, not those whom I see for 1/3 of the recess week.

And so I gave a reply to XXX yesterday, indicating that I won't be free until the end of exams. Ironically, XXX's email came today, announcing that the gathering will be next saturday or sunday. It's either XXX doesn't understand my huge hint (as big as Big Brother and Little Boy combined), or that XXX just misses everybody so much.

I guess XXX doesn't even need to work on weekends lor.

And XXX doesn't understand that meeting up so often will make the plan to bond everyone backfire.

Many gatherings- increased chances that some members cannot turn up- those who always appear (of course it'll include XXX) will be very united- those who can't turn up will feel left out, if not ostracized.

Please la, even couples cannot meet up so often de lor, "absence makes the heart grow fonder" mah! Aargh! Well, it just goes to show that XXX isn't very wise at all. Will get XXX new pairs of specs when I have the $$$ (for short-sightedness of cos), it's for the good of everyone who's already struggling with homework and stuff. Homework VS (over) active socializing; of course the priority will be homework la! We are all here to study anyway.

Real frustrated cuz I'll still have to turn up for the gathering cuz publicity rep must take pics of all meetings. Aargh.

Somebody please drop a bigger hint for XXX. This can't go on forever.

Aargh!
